I remember reading it when it first came out, 1985/86. Good author too he has brought out some great titles WW3, as well as ACW.

Yes worth a read as are some of the other books - Sword Point, Bright Star and The Ten Thousand.

Also Fire Arrow by Franklin Allen Leib - M551's being delivered by LAPES...

I ve got several copies of the book, I ve also got the original board game. The other books that got with it are great. Especially the one where they get chased over Europe, Germany mainly. Bright star is the Egyptian one and a couple others are Mexican Civil war.
I think he is an Irish American ?
