Lluis of Minairons

As a sign of my desire to speed hobby things up after retirement, here it goes a new addition to my collection, consisting of a pair of British Supermarine Spitfires in 1/144 scale. The one you can see on the left side of photos (the transparent canopy one) is made of hard plastic, from Revell; whilst the other is 3D printed, recently released by (still) my brand Minairons.

I wanted to paint these beautiful little planes in the RAF livery during the Battle of Britain; so as to choose the appropriate colors from Vallejo's Model Color range, I was guided by this comprehensive online guide , that determines the use of 70.893 US Dark Green , 70.873 US Field Drab and 70.971 (Pale) Green Grey as main colours. After the painting job, the planes have been brushed with satin varnish - except for the canopies, for which I've used gloss varnish.

The decals on fuselage and upper wings are from Minairons again, while the ones on lower wings are homemade. Otherwise, the small tricolors on tail have been brush painted.
