A post for postings sake really, but I'm taking Fighting for Mexico to the Stoke club foe the first time next week. In readiness I re-read the rules last night.

I'd forgotten how much I'd enjoyed this game during playtesting. I really like some of the mechanisms that are all familiar to us but that are tweaked a bit to give it a slightly different feel for Mexico.

It has reminded me also that I never quite finished painting my Mexican buildings, so that's what I'll be doing to cheer myself up for missing Salute and Stewart's beach assault game.

Good reason for getting excited, this is one of my favourite PP games. Never thought I would enjoy this period but the game allows for some very different armies, the game really benefits the game and I love the reinforcement rules, these force you to make difficult decisions. I only have the American intervention force whay will you be using?

I've given SALUTE a miss this year too.

I was tempted, especially as Martin is there. But just couldn't squeeze it in. Retirement is only 5 weeks away, so things will get easier for a while...until I get back to work  ;)

I'll be taking a Government army and some form of Rebels. I'll let the players decide. But as usual I am providing everything!

I think they're a great set of rules, leading as Chris says, to a variety of interesting situations to deal with.

The approach to reinforcements is quite possibly unique in RFCM games?

Would you like to put it on at the WWW if your attending

Well done on getting folk signed up for WWW games early, Stewart  :)

If you put it on, Sean, I'll play!

If you're retiring soon, hopefully we might get to see you in person a bit more regularly?
Yes this is a good game system even I ve bought both boxed armies ready to paint at some point ?
Yes we must get the games list started and see what we can do for WWW ?

I got one of the army boxes to paint up too. I don't think I'll get it done this year, but next year might be a good target?

Have to agree that the reinforcements rule is a great addition to this set of rules.

It's aspects like this that make RFCM rules such a refreshing change to all of the rest!

Darnation, you've reminded me I have way more than buildings to paint, Sean.
I'm a little ways off the big R yet but I'm already going through a 'finishing off' phase in my modelling and realising I still have all my Caballeros on all sides to complete. I'm excited to get back to them at some point soon, and I'm not even using FFM... but the figures are still beautiful and a joy to work on.

Buildings were finished yesterday. I have a couple of other scenery bits I'll try amd sort, but  basically ready for the game now.
