Hot day in the workshop.

Greek Hoplites pack 3.  45'
Greek hoplite command.
Next there will be vertical hoplites with cast on spear.

AK character body guards.
This will give the figures for 4 AK character packs. They are direct replacements for the existing 4. They will be withdrawn end of June. One day there will be another 4 to give a total of 8 character packs.  The new packs only have 2 poses and  a total of 3 figures in a specially priced pack.

Don't forget Ratty and Mole. Toady's car too, in the vehicles range.

Sounds like a good day's work, Martin.

Looking forward to seeing the Greeks and their separate shields, as well as learning whether they are wearing bronze or linen cuirass.

And also nice to have some fresh blood in the AK47 range.

I'm also happy to see that we have a well-read group here - well done Derek!

The Hoplites are for the later period of linen cuirass.
This makes them easy to paint.

I have ordered some transfers as time is short for completion.

They will work well with the Macedonians. This means that a PP hoplite army has the auxiliaries and skirmishers already present in the Macedonian start.
I have been testing the figures for how well they take the shields and spears. I think a video would be of great help.
The Hoplite army must be finished before the salute show.

You're a hard taskmaster to yourself, Martin - that's just 11 painting days to go?!

A case of confidence  over ability.
I felt I needed to do an historical opponent for the Macedonians.
I fear that if I had used an army such as imperial Romans I would be suffering lots of "informed" correction. Aaargh.....

Colonel Kilgore

Maybe you could rope in some of the locals to paint a few units each up for you, Martin?

Weymouth mike is helping me out. I told him to go heavy on the pink.

Colonel Kilgore

That's a doubly good idea, Martin  ;)

Good idea. You can always use the Ridley Scott defence for anyone complaining by saying "Were you there? No? Then how do you know they didn't wear pink?" 😂

martin goddard

That Ridley Scott has it right. Pink Hoplites are on their way. Maybe fewer rhinos?
