This is just the regular reminder about names.
Members should imagine they are phoning an intelligent radio station ,ordering something to be picked up at a shop, running a game at a show or signing a Christmas card.

Give a name not a made up title.

This really helps keep the conversations direct and accountable as in civilised real life.

Much of "social media" becomes childish/boorish due to anonymity. Let's please not use that sort of behaviour as a guide to conversations here.

This may make the RFCM site exceptional, but that is a good thing in these days of "hiding".

thanks

Bankinista

I agree Martin - but there comes an issue of confusion. The Mill has the right idea about avoiding nicknames and surnames. However it isn't always clear who's who. Hence .........

Bankinista

(one of the Dereks)

We can do what our forefathers did Derek and add a place.   e.g Leonardo Da Vinci.  Joseph of Arimathea.

Nice and easy.

Bankinista

An interesting idea. Let's hope people are sufficiently spread out!

Derek of Cambridge

Smoking gun

Martin from Grimsby

Sounds like a character out of Van der Valk!

I really like the new Van Der Valk. Even the great tune is in there somewhere.

I live in Eemsdelta gemeente (bit like a council area) so Andy Van der Delta might also work.
