Here is my suggestion for a Swiss Army.
2-9 Close Order Infantry, armoured, pike, no shield, trained              1-3 veteran
                                                                          0-3 shock
                                                                          0-1 elite
                                                                          0-5 unarmoured
2-5 Close Order Infantry, armoured, halberd(spear), no shield, trained    1-3 veteran
                                                                          0-1 shock
                                                                          0-2 unarmoured
0-4 Auxiliary Infantry, crossbow/hand gun, no shield, trained
                                                                          0-2 armoured
0-1 Cavalry, armoured, shield, trained
0-1 Mounted skirmisher
2-8 Foot Skirmishers
0-1 Light Artillery

I don't know much about Swiss. It looks like a "fair play" army.
Could the cavalry become 2 instead of 1?

Should be a very small Army John. All that Armour.  I would have thought it may be a bit more useable to have the aux and a few of the close order with armoured as an optional extra instead. Also for Aux Trained, unarmoured, sword, shieldless as townsfolk/rich folk and their retinues "helping" out.

I admit I don't know much about the actual army though so may be completely wide of the mark.  Quite like the idea though. extend C&K into a later period.

Would be good to see what you make of the list as a specimen as though going to play a game.

The 1 cavalry is being generous. They almost never had cavalry and only occasionally hired a few.
As to all armoured the Swiss tended to use armour rather than shields as they needed two hands for their weapons. You could introduce an unarmored option for all troops to lower the troop cost. I will amend the list later.

So, small and compact, but well engineered and useful for getting stones out of horses' hooves?  ;D

And the tiny pike to use as a toothpick.

I have amended my original post to include some unarmoured troop types, as suggested by Derek.

The Swiss army fought with Lorraine cavalry allies at the Battle of Nancy in 1477 against Charles the Bold's Burgundians. So I would suggest there is a case for cavalry to be present - rarely!

Agreed. That is why I included the one unit of Cavalry. Otherwise I wouldn't have put any in the list.

I will put it in the army book.
Thank you John.
It can still be changed because the army book is a free download
