My first 3 ECW general completed today.

I have bought some of the new Army Painter Fanatic paints. They claim to  have the best coverage ever, with even yellows and oranges covering well over dark undercoats.

I don't know about that  but they probably the best paints I've used in a long time. Recommended.

As are the lovely general  figures. Rupert, Waller and Fairfax here. I've 3 others to do before I buy the rest to complete the collection.

They do look very nice, Sean - well done!

They look good Sean
Photos good too.

Here is what i see.
Black undercoat?
MDF base?
Vallejo paints?
Flocked?

If I am correct then the photos must be good.
Are you doing specific flags or a general parliament/Royalist type.
I have no idea what flags they carried but I expect there is a photo somewhere?

They are a bit bigger than normal PP ECW. is that noticeable/problem?
Good job Sean and thanks for patriotically buying PP- grown in Britain.

martin :)

Close Martin

Black undercoat but then dry brushed white to show detail.

Army Painter paints, not Vallejo.

Yes  the base is flocked MDF.

I'll probably make up my own flags.

They fit in just fine alongside my armies.

Good information Sean.
Update us when the flags are decided upon. I have no idea what I will do with them.
Do you have MS publisher or similar to make flags with?

martin :)

I hand painted all of the ones for my armies. They were all based on real flags but with some artistic licence allowed.

If using from the internet, I'll copy and paste into MS Paint or even just to Word and resize the image for printing.

Battle flags have a good range of flags on EBay
Also "Wargames Designs" on EBay look good too.

Also look at the Warflags website. They are free.

CORRECTION. The site is Warflag (singular). Not much for ECW on the site but plenty of other stuff. There is also a site called Warflags.
