Advance warning that we will be doing our annual upgrade in the next few days, so there may be some downtime when RFCM will be unavailable.

Its a version release - rather than a point upgrade so it might take longer

thanks
Simon

Thanks for the warning, Simon - best of luck!

Does this mean we might get lots of exciting new features, with the new version?

The Forum has been updgraded successfully. If there are any funnies just call them out! I'm sure there will be few

Lluis of Minairons

Well, I'll have to get used to this new look, but it certainly looks very promising!

Simon,

I'm particularly struggling on my mobile (Android).

In the old version, I could readily see the whole of the landing page and click into topics that had new posts (bold text). Now, the background is black (not white - this happened to me once yesterday on my PC, but quickly reverted) and I have to scroll through several pages of text to see everything.

I'd go so far as to say that, as things stand, the Forum is no longer really practical to use on an Android phone.

Sorry!

Simon

Yep, agree with Simon. It's not looking great on my mobile. I only use my mobile to access the forum. It's definitely  not as user friendly. Of course  it maybe something we just have to get used to if the forum is to continue.

Can't see the supporter badges either 😕

Colonel Kilgore

I have the same absence of Supporters' badges on my phone. Are you on an iPhone, Sean? If so, do you also have the black background?

Simon

No, I'm on Android, but it is a black page. Using my laptop at the moment, but as stated previosuley I use my phone 99% of the time. I suspect my participation will drop considerably if the mobile experience remains as it is now.

I'd prefer recent posts to be in one list as previously. Also the list was longer than the new version. I'm not a fan of the black front page and I read it off a laptop, not a phone.

Aren't I the fortunate one prefering my laptop for fora rather than my magic slate.

Sean Clark

Don't know if this can be resolved, but I can no longer see how many posts a thread has  who posted last  or the time and date of those posts.
