Stewart and martin took on Ben's Gauls.
Stewart's shooty Egyptians versus Ben's chargy Gauls.

The Gauls came on with shouts and  spears.
The Egyptians shot them a lot but the arrows all bounced off.
Stewart cleverly hid up a tree with his chariot in order to avoid wandering Gauls. There will be legends born out of that (I think).

The Gauls eventually pushed through and beat the Egyptians.
A most enjoyable game too.
A good win to Ben's Gauls.

Sounds fun.

Did Stewart climb down from his tree in time to get soundly beaten, or quietly slope off when no-one was looking?

Stewart waited until all the soldiers were packed away, came out of the woods and declared victory.
There were no enemy on the field.
Cunning.

I can't believe chariots up trees wasn't a more used tactic historically! Definitely helped by some good dice rolls (I think 2 turns of passing every save from shooting?) but think thats the best gaul list i've tried. Need to paint up some more cavalry now though!

Ah - but Stewart then made the basic error of any ancient dictator by not publishing his official history of the battle before you did, Martin.

Double victory points for Benslie?
