We played two games of pirate land raid at Levellers last night.
The pirate raiders won both by a massacre.
Dennis the pirate was able to score 6 scores of 6 out of 10D6 . Pretty good I think.

The makes were most enjoyable.

The following were most important:-
1. Having a set number of casualty markers so that players know when there are some unaccounted for.
2. Different base types for scurvy locals and pirate attackers.
3. Named officers so that there is a story and easy to remember order (?)
4. Parked ships so that players get their arms caught. These ships also get spectators to wonder how they come into the game.

Still my favourite short game.

To add to #4: spectators asking "where in the Peter Pig catalogue are the ships?"
