Each year i like to have a drains up and review how things are going. So as its the start of the Year I'd like to run this out openly with a couple of question -

1. What initiatives could we run to promote the forum?
2. Are there any improvements that could be made?
3. Is there anything that we can decommission? I'm a great fan of streamlining

you can add any general comments here too.  I cannot promise to fix anything , but we can at least look

thanks

It would be a great help to NOT hide the forum link at the very bottom of the PP index page if we want more members.

It's great to see more and more people actively contributing thoughts, queries and photos of the fruits of their labour. However, it would be nice to more actively engage even more of the current Forum Members (if indeed they feel the need to be engaged / participate!).

From a quick scan of the Forum stats, of our almost 140 members roughly:

  • 20% are in the double or treble digits of posting
  • but 50% have yet to post anything
  • while the remaining c. 30% are in the single digits
This is probably a good ratio of contributors vs. "lurkers" (not that this is meant in a derogatory way - if folk are happy just watching what's going on then that's fine with me too) by most standards, but if there are people who would like to contribute but feel in any way discouraged from doing so, then that's probably something we should address.

Perhaps a simple-but-cunningly-constructed poll on what folk value most / would like more or less of might be an easy and anonymous way for people to express a view?
