We all put love and effort into our forces.
Some of those forces don't get used much. others rise up and provide a lot of enjoyment.

Which force (using mainly PP figures/ships etc please) have you enjoyed using most in 2024?  All criteria are valid.  Maybe they fought well. Maybe they got a lot of action. Maybe they were nice to paint?

Let us know what and why

thanks

Good question martin :-[

Mine would be the Macedonian army. I enjoyed the bristle spear idea.
The peltasts and skirmishers came out well.
It was my first army with a named (Alexander) sculpt for an ancient general.
This army fought all over the place, including Colours and Salute.

Hard to say really. The AK47 have been fun but I bought most of it off eBay. Fun to play with. PBI armies I used were mostly to fit in with others, so I didn't get to use the ones I wanted to. As a result my Finns, Partisans, 14th Army, winter Germans, Italians and USMC remain virgin soldiers.
I have enjoyed painting my SCW forces. I now have Republicans, Assault Guards, Communist Militia, Moroccans and International Brigade. I'll paint the Nationalists in 2025.

My SCW Italians have had a few outings.

I think they look nice (flags are always good), and so far they've fought pretty well.

Sounds like an SCW battle day is required?

The RN shore party used in the Dieppe games at Beachhead and Warfare this year. Every figure had head swops, a number were converted from home guard figures into naval rig. So a small platoon took a lot of time to prepare, they also stood out when placed with the mass of Canadians and Commandos (11 platoons) on the Beach.

My Romans, ancient Germans, SCW Moroccans, Dervish, 14th Army, US Cavalry and opposing Indians have all never been used 🙄

I've had by far most use out of my AK47, though not played for a few weeks now ☹️

I enjoyed using my 1914 French at the Squarebashing day.

I'm still plodding on with some Samurai...but have a feeling that Battles in the Age of War might change to the Bloody Barons style of game.

I have Spanish Civil War Civil Guard to start on.

Favourite? It's like trying to choose your favourite  child 😅🤣😂

I have enjoyed using all my toys at the many battle days and the Weymouth weekend.

I have had good games and some bad games but all ways with good company.

I guess my favourite force would be my Pirate ships.

For me it has to be my Nubians. Brittle sometimes but effective.

Roll on next year. Hope to get more gaming in then.

Hello,
It would have to be my AK47 Republic force. It was my first PP army and saw more use over the last few years than it did in the previous 10.

I do have a large amount of SCW figures to paint, which is delayed due to the recent move and addition of a grandchild to the family.

For 2025 I have some more PP figures, vehicles and scenery to paint for the "Peoples Edition" and I would like to make a start on the above mentioned SCW too.

Best wishes,
Martin, from a village west of Grimsby

Doing my WW1 British, my Republicans for SCW and updating my AK47 figures. This year. Not been the best year for doing things, I lost my Mojo for a while.
But hopefully 2025 will be better. I ve just bought more WW1 British for early war. Got plenty to do for my AK47 forces.
Doing Scenery at the moment, realised I haven't actually got any white templates and need to do some Partials. Then tart up my NW European templates.

Still in the process of upgrading my WWI 1914 British and Germans, but Square Bashing got most use with my Franco-Prussians using the Krupp Bashing variant.

In 2024 it has to be building up my AK47 forces. I have particularly enjoyed painting up the SCW Moroccans as my Malitanians and furkling the close combat Tuareg from the Ancient range into my Alfellaga for those 'up close and personal' encounters has been fun too.
