I have ordered a whole bunch of round warbases MDF.
I am using the MDF ones to use as markers to labels units in action.
The advantage of the mdf ones is that they are so light they should not grind upon each other (?).  Thus, preserving the paint.

I must say that warbases are very good value indeed.
Do others agree?

I agree, Martin. I particularly like their custom markers, and that they will make things to order if you ask them nicely e.g. the Vietnam search and the Square Bashing assets boards.

I have found that Pendraken seem cheaper for some standard rectangular bases, though.

Pendraken have pretty good prices for bases and they make those very useful dice frames.

Pendraken are great in bulk, but Warbases do a wonderful custom service and will make just about anything for you if you ask nicely.

Leon at Pendraken can also make custom items as well as custom square sabots/movement trays if you need them.

Another supplier of mdf is Jim at - Products for Wargamers. Good service, and competitively priced (his stand is at Colours next weekend, A23).

Yes, I use Warbases for all sorts of things, both mdf and acrylic. I particularly like the bases with rounded edges. I like mdf markers for exactly the same reason: paint preservation.
