Until the Square bashing day in the autumn there are no other gaming days until then!!!

Come on is it so difficult to enter the events!!

Stewart 46A

Hi Les
I have organised a games day each month, next is ACW 9th July

And pretty easy to enter these events - anyone interested just needs to post here on the Forum under the appropriate heading ('Piggy Days and Competitions' and/or the relevant rules section - generally there's a thread in each) or directly get in touch with you, right Stewart?

Also they are on The Peter Pig website and on the Facebook Peter Pig players group.
So the information is out there. You coming over for a game or two then Les ?

Looks like the calendar just could be removed from this site if its not going to be used.

Stewart I know you have been organising games most month.

Simon so why have a calendar as a separate heading then on the menu above?

Miles if they are on the PP website why is there not a reference on this site to the fact?

Facebook what's that?

Probably Miles, but its a bit difficult to keep up with the games times, location, and dates with so many places to look, but it does seem to work.
Dates not know at the moment, but perhaps 'O Group' at Entoyment mid week.

Unfortunately some of us don't have access to the Calendar on here.
But Facebook I do have access too. So I try and now keep the Facebook (Social media what the kids use a lot these days !)site up to date with Battledays timings and Locations. I have even got different heading titles to each battleday with appropriate heading picture to each event. I managed even to change the mix up with August and September the other day.
The website is down to Martin so we do try and inform Martin so he can keep that up to date within reason.

Les,

I did not create the Forum. Things here are updated and refreshed as and when people have time to do so, and that includes the Calendar (which also includes things such as when Miles's birthday is, so we can make sure he gets his cake at Entoyment). Very often, real life unfortunately gets in the way of things.

I'm sorry that the Calendar is not maintained according to your wishes. Some find it useful for what we are able to put up there. We have only ever had complaints about this from one person.

As Miles has pointed out, the information on upcoming PP events is readily available elsewhere.

Specifically, the PP website has a page linked from "Shows and Events We Are At" on the front page: https://www.peterpig.co.uk/shows%20competitions%20and%20events.html

And another entitled "Peter Pig Battle Days" (the big yellow rectangle on the front page): https://www.peterpig.co.uk/Battle%20days.html

Between the two, I think they pretty much cover things?

The other one as Julian rightly pointed out is the Facebook sites. Which I am now days much more there and update when an event is planned and due. We now have 5 sites to chose from.
Peter Pig Players Group.
PBI- Poor Bloody Infantry
Both of which I am admin on.
Peter Pig has their own Page.
Then there is;
AK47 Republic Wargamers Run by Julian and some others covering both versions of the game.
Collectors of Peter Pig 15mm Figures. This covers a lot of various subjects related to the use of Peter Pig figures.
The 2 I run does have an event system which I try and update and maintain, others can add to it as they wish.
So as Simon says there is plenty out there to choose and use.

My last word on this...

Im taking this is a personal  dig at me over the calendar.  My work life balance fluctates, as does my hobby activity. I only have so much time and spend it where I can to oobtain most benefit.

I tend to go through phases of activity here or on Facebook or Twitter. I check out the forum at keast once a day regardless, though my posts tail off when Ive nothing of value to add to a conversation.

With work and Ava's activities and now the cost of fuel, my opportunities  to travel to Weymouth have been limited. I very much enjoy  travelling down to stay with Martin. The trips normally kickstart me into painting and being more active here.

Without the trips, i have to wait for inspiration to strike from elsewhere.

So overall, I offer my apologies to Les for letting you down.

Simon C, please take this as my resignation as administrator for the forum. I'm sure theres a more active member who will step up to replace me.

I'll maintain my membership and financial support of the forum, but retreat from posting and contributing anything for the forseeable future.

Apolgies to all who have suffered from the lack of calendar  updates.

Thanks to all who have contributed to my own enjoyment of the hobby, particularly the Piggie side of it. Continue to play nice, enjoy your gaming and support the greatest wargaming company in the hobby.

Sean,
As a relative newcomer to the Forum and returner to active wargaming in the last 10 years I would like to thank you for your input to the hobby via this site, your podcasts and your company at the WWW and other events. I now use your painting techniques to good effect, in fact my newly painted ACW Generals are testimony to the effectiveness.
I understand when family and work need to take precedence over hobbies and applaud you for it.  That lead pile will still be there for you when you are ready.
There's always some Calva waiting for you!

This is not good at all.

The calendar has annoyed Les for a few years now.
It is not a direct attack on you Sean but it is an issue that really upsets Les.

I have never used the calendar, so have not appreciated the issues that it raises.

The simple answer is to delete it.
I will ask Simon C to delete the calendar and hope that we can get Sean back and  lay Les' concerns to rest??

Let us see if that helps?
