I've just taken possession of a squadron of BMP 1's from a 3D print service on eBay. I didn't expect them to be clear resin and the resin itself feels quite odd. I'll spray them up and see what comes of them.

Crikey, that is very unusual!

There's part of me wonders whether this wouldn't make a lovely set of fairy lights if you drilled holes in the bottom and put coloured LEDs in...

Sean,

They are probably very nice models, but I can't quite tell!

How.. ...intriguing. You'd have thought that the producer would know that people might like to be able to see the model in order to clean up any imperfections before painting.

I think you will have to baptise them "Ghost Squadron" when they take the field. With a minus 1 to opponent's dice to hit, as they're so stealthy?

Received 4 KHTZ-16's in clear resin Friday - have sprayed them with undercoat and a base coat of Russian Green, they came out very nice indeed. Don't be put off by the clear resin makes no difference.

It does allow one to see the little men inside.
You can hollow out the underside and insert painted passengers.  Ground breaking new idea ?

Good idea Martin!

The castings/prints look very clean. The turrets are a little too big for the hole in the Hull though, so not sure how to rectify this. Once home from work, I'll see what can be done.

A good way to rectify that Sean. Cut the pin off the turret. Drill a little hole and place an Rare Earth Magnet in. Fill the other hole in the Hull and pop the Opposite Rare Earth Magnet into it. Then the turret will sit on the Hull quite nicely if you have put the magnets in the places where the Pin and hole were ?
Exactly the same if you do Battlefront/FoW vehicles and don't use the Pins ?
I think you get clear plastic/resin as it is the cheapest/simplest to supply, as a 'coloured' one would cost you and them more ? somebody might correct/confirm me on this ?
