Hi guys. New to the forum but I've been playing Bayonet and Ideology for years.

I have a query about morale in Bloody Barons. The rules on casualty tokens say they are all removed at the end of the morale phase. The play sequence says that the active player tests morale. Then all his casualty markers are removed.

So what happens to the casualty markers of the inactive player? Are they just removed without morale tests? Or is it a misprint in the sequence and both players test?

Leman (Andy)

Casualty markers are removed only by the active player after testing his morale. The inactive player's casualties remain until after testing his morale in his turn.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I see where you're going with your answer but don't the rules about the various markers that precede the morale rules say; "No casualty markers should be on the table at the end of the Morale Phase"? They don't distinguish between whose phase it is.

That said, most of the penalties for failing a morale check apply to the active player.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I think you're probably right, I'm just interested in your thoughts on what appears to be a contradiction.

You can only remove casualty markers at the end of your own morale phase, so the inactive player leaves any casualty markers until his turn comes around.
