Recently finished a new Royalist unit for Baroque ECW using Peter Pig figures...Sir Thomas Tyldesley's Regt of Foot.

I also produced a separate replacement command base to allow it to be fielded as T Shooters/Commanded shot, plus 'Not Yet Fired' and 'Good Shooter' markers too.

15mm Peter Pig figures, though the mounted commander is a Minifig casting on a PP horse. Lots of head swaps and conversions.

Kev

Wow - very nice!

How many hours did that little lot take you...?

As per the Colonel, excellent work.

Do you still use your magic wash or is this all layering and highlight work?

You're painting style would make a great entry into the Forum  competition 😀

Fat Wally

Thanks chaps.

This unit took approx 8 hours, Colonel.

Still use magic wash then layering and highlighting etc Sean.

This is the second, and last, of my units to have shot from Martin's recent 'Marching Musketeers' pack.  Two more units hopefully before the end of the month.

Finished off another Royalist regiment today, Sir Allan Apsley's.

As I wanted to use charged pikes, for a change, I decided that the shot aught to look like they're about to engage in close combat too.  Most of the museketeers are from Martin's recent releases.  There are several figures with clubbed muskets, one guy with a grenadoe (from the breach party pack) a couple with shouldered muskets, with the rest advancing.

Kev

You're painting is a real inspiration Kev. I often use your website for ideas. I'm currently finishing off my PP AWI  and not inky do I use your pictures for colour ideas but also your imaginative use of the figures.

Well done!

Leman (Andy)

I really like those action poses.

Fat Wally

Thanks for all the nice positive comments chaps.  Much appreciated.

Third new unit this week.  This time Col John Owen's (Oxford) Regiment....

I still have another four regiments to complete, Bernard Astley's, Prince Rupert's, Earl of Essex's and Lord Brooke's but these will have to wait as I've got the usual commission work to do.

Cheers,

Kev

Colonel Kilgore

Stop it - you're making the rest of us feel very inadequate....  :)

Sean Clark

To lessen my own pain all of my ECW are fictitious units led by imaginary personalities to fight in a made up campaign  :o

Colonel Kilgore

Ah - so they're all a figment of your own imagination - I feel much better now  8)
