Confused about rules versions

Just checked my set of rules: they are marked Version 2.9 June 1999.  Sadly, i am only now getting round to our first game!

2011 is the latest set.
You really should buy that version. It is excellent.
Hard copies will all be sold out by end of 2020. Then pdf only.

The new HI is a genuinely great game. It's a firm favourite at my club.
