I am starting this to see if players have any fighting advice when playing the POE land raid?

Here is a starter
1.Pirates should fall back when faced with a sizeable amount of scurvy coming at them.
2. Given a choice between plundering and shooting, go for the plunder.
3. When being an attacker/pirate, try to get an officer down to the docks in order to round up any late pirates.
4.Try to hold the barracks whichever side you are on.
5. If, as defender you have plenty (10 or more bases) of scurvy , throw them into frontal assaults. The "death exchange" should be worthwhile.
6. Usually better for pirates to shoot their way through the scurvy, rather than stop to fight them  (see 5).
7. Pirates need to prioritise the important buildings. More chance of high value plunder and gaining victory points.
8. If in a good position for next activities use "gather" instead of moving out.
9. If ,as a defender, you have 4 or more troop bases than lead them with your own commander. making fill use of their able status and firepower ability.
10. If attacker, put scurvy arrivals as far away as possible, a corner?
11. If defender , put scurvy in a safe place until an officer can lead them.

I think there are alternative views to the above. That is excellent. It show there are multiple ways to achieve the objective.
I lose many more games than i win. What more can i say?

This is a very worthy initiative, Martin - one we should also do for other (published) rules, perhaps?

And you've made a great start on the "top tips" list.

You did forget to mention the need to roll the right numbers on the dice, though. And the desirability of the opponent not doing so.

maybe someone can suggest a list for the game they play?  Otherwise i might do so.

I tend to use most if not all of The points listed by Martin. Success is often lacking due to inaccurate die rolling and my opponent not playing to my plan.
