SELWG is the London show held at crystal palace 21st October 2018.
A one day show held in a big hall.
The hall is light and airy. Excellent. Most of the hall is on one level but there is also a large balcony area .
The bring and buy was really big and had a good variety of things.  Maybe they should not allow purchases until after the show has opened. This will stop traders "hoovering" up bargains that are an attraction to paying attendees.

Traders.  A fine selection of traders. The most impressive was the Warlord stand which has books, figures, paints etc..... Well presented and well staffed. Went over to S+A scenics and was impressed by their stuff. Andy Grubb was there with a huge stand of things. The Peter Pig stand was well sited on the ground floor with good access and a nice clear frontage.  SELWG are very good at giving traders a nice space. Thanks to them.

Games. Very good in terms of access, positioning and size. Each game had plenty of room around it. There were chairs for sitting down (shortage at too many shows).  There were small games (Peter Pig) and giant games.  Good mixture of periods.

Peter Pig took along WESTERN. Had 5 really good games, with gamers who were attentive and switched on. i enjoyed all of the games. It is great when players can take their own decisions and grab the game play.  Most of the games consisted of 3 Mexican groups(led by martin) being assailed by 4 mounted Indian groups (led by some normal persons). The Mexicans got whipped!

Loading and unloading merits particular comment. This was organised well. The SELWG folk were out there in force to make traders load/unload sensibly. Traders are notorious for their selfishness. They made traders queue. the one that overtook all the queueing traders to push in at the front was sent back, excellent. After lunch the usual two traders parked their big white vans in the small loading area and left them there locked up, whilst the other traders manoeuvred around the to load up! SELWG allowed traders to load on te basis of "ready" and "how far". This is a great idea. Traders need to be policed.

Sales were good for PP. Other traders looked happy too. Sold some western rules too!

Overall a 9 out of 10 show. The lost star is due to Crystal palace being areal nightmare to drive to. Took an hour to cover 9 miles of London. SELWG need to build a big motorway to the doors of the palace. They can work on that.
As an aside i would love to have had a swim in their olympic length pool.

Yes the rules for the Weymouth Fisticuffs Bring and Buy are excellent not allowing sales until the show opens to the public.

I am sure that the PP staff were the equal of the Warlord staff if not better!!

At least you were not the baby sitting service this year and had some good games, geat the the novices managed a win or 2.
