Would I be correct in assuming that the new Western rules would be suitable for small scale engagements for such as in Missouri during the war.i.e. Union Jayhawkers vs Confederate bushwhackers. That had irregular as well as regular forces, which fought many small skirmishes and larger fights (but not real battles) throughout the war ?

I guess at a push it could even cover small 'western' fights or is this out of the scope of the rules - as rifled muskets would be around as well as the more advanced firearms of the true 'west' period.

Just checking what I buy with my pre-order ;)

I reckon that any irregular type fight (as those you mentioned) could be done with WESTERN. It is less suitable for organised upstanding fights between regiments. Might work well for ACW  looting and city fights.

In my humble opinion these would work very well for Jayhawkers versus Bushwackers. I intend to play  the game using these forces.

Sean, I expect to see plenty of smoke rising from crop/house fires in your game?

Yeehawwwwwww!

For reference, the film Ride with the Devil is excellent, showing Quantrills raiders causing mayhem.

Looks like you may have the figures ready for a Quantrills raid in November?
