Message from Julie:
Martin will be in hospital for a few days. He wanted you to know because he is unable to reply to emails and questions and they are piling up a bit.
We are still open for orders because Nigel and Mike deal with them all.
I will post an update asap. Thank you.

Julie

Yes John. I don't want two rough men threatening me for information of the whereabouts of my PBI 8th army box with the extra 6pdrs.
How do they make their money? Insurance policies?

I got an e mail from this company (Rapter ltd).
They seem to have an interesting idea about valuing wargame collections, insuring etc.

I went to have a look and it looks very professional.
They are in Farnborough.
The business name seems to refer to raptors (as raptor ltd has already gone)?

Anyone dealt with them? I think they do shows.

That is indeed good value John.
Make sure you are not left with 18 PIAT loaders and 16 Bren no 2.

General discussion / Prompted by an idea
« on: November 21, 2020, 06:21:13 PM »
I saw somewhere on the internet a very interesting idea.
Upon this idea I suggest the following.

All too often a nice measurement system for 15mm needs changing for smaller or larger figure sizes.

Solution
Make a new ruler up in pretend inches.

e.g. BAW is used for 15mm games quite often.
A player wishes to use it for 10mm figures.
Create a ruler marked in pretend inches.
Each "inch" could be 18mm or whatever is wished.
Create a ruler marked 1-12 inches. But on this rule each inch only measure 18mm.
Then no need to re interpret the rules. Just use the pretend inch rule.

Splendid?

Mostly today I have been doing a mould. Number 865 I think.

A useful one for sombrero armies.

1. Sombrero higher command. 4 poses.
2. Sombrero bombers
3. Sombrero standard bearers and bugler

All being well they should be out on Thursday 26th??

The addition of flag men should really enhance the units.

Two weeks of lockdown left (possibly?).

The Thomas the tank engine stuff should do fine.
You might need to glue it to a 12" section of track and move the whole piece rather than just the engine etc.
That way the wheel gauge would not matter?

Thanks Dave and Ben
Pistols were only used by the more elite troops. These troops would use their rifles and close in with two pistols blazing. Of course they usually got shot to bits but very brave in doing so.

Also yes they are intended to be used as officers.
For most of the armies I am keeping flag men and officers separate as  otherwise folk find it difficult to create the mix they personally want.

These are the photos Terry!

They have come out very nicely.

The limited photo tricks I have learned are:-

1. Shutter timer
2. Minimal depth of field (f5.6 ?)
3.Lots of indirect light.  ie daytime by the window
4. Blue background
5.Tidy up and crop using software  (I use Corel photo shop)
