I think you've just done the hardest part, Martin.

Translating the current SCW rules into Latin American Spanish will be a doddle by comparison.

Les, that's a very good find, thanks.

I think you've just partially answered your own earlier question  ;)

Stop the press! I've just filed my copy, Martin.

Good luck in pulling this next issue together!

I don`t think Vietnam was mentioned in my original post???????

One shouldn't need to - I take it as a given  :D

In an attempt to bring this thread back on-topic, I'd like to solicit the help of the Forum members in providing some unit commanders' names for Les and Miles's forces, respectively.

Les is working on the Kiwi troops at Maleme. So far I have:
21 Battalion HQ: Lt Col J M Allen
22 Battalion HQ: Lt Col Leslie Wilton Andrews
22 Battalion: C Coy: Capt S H Johnson
22 Battalion: D Coy: Capt T C Campbell
23 Battalion: HQ: Lt Col D F Leckie: CC rifle

But am missing plausible commanders' names for:
21 Battalion: A, B Coys
22 Battalion: A, Company
Company, 27th Machine Gun Battalion
23 Battalion: A, B Coys
Coy, 28 (Maori) Battalion

Miles is raising the following for the Retreat to Hora Safakion scenario:

2/7 Battalion: HQ, A, B, C companies
1st Australian Machine Gun Battalion detachment
2/3rd Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery
3rd King's Own Hussars

as well as the RAF detachment at Maleme

I have no commander's names for any of these.

Could anyone make any suggestions, please?

Thanks!

Simon

No more so than most of our threads  ;)

We had five posts that were bang on-topic and even managed to answer your original question, Terry, before Mertin subverted the whole thing. Which I think is actually pretty good going for this Forum!

Do please let us know how you get on with the figures you've ordered - I do like winged hussars.

Er - Vietnam, anyone?

Very nice - and decent of John C to have created them.

It's nice to see the various dimensions (figures, rules, accessories...) of the new range coming together.

Sean,

Would you be able to scan your Land Battle rules, and send to Martin, please?

Oh - and Timecast sell Old Glory's offerings:

http://www.timecastmodels.co.uk/og15renaissance/og15renaissance.html#polishcommonwealth

I really like Timecast's own products, but am less sure about some of the Old Glory figures. I rapidly gave up on their Samurai (too poorly cast / too much flash / too much hassle to clean up) and sold them before I'd painted any. The photos of the Poles (link above) seem to indicate these may be similar. Of course, you may be way more patient than me!

Terry,

I don't own any of their stuff, but have always admired pictures of Legio Heroica figures:

I love your vote of confidence Les  ;)

I post them as soon as I get images or the real thing to photograph.

But I would hate to distract Martin from his sculpting duties. No doubt I'll get some piccies to post in due course.

Inquiring minds need to know. Where on the website are these pictures of the new sombrero troops? Nothing found on the MexRev page.  Regards Alan

Alan,

They didn't show for me immediately either - I had to refresh my screen (browser cache?) a couple of times for the new stuff to appear.

Wow, what a battle. And a write-up of suitably epic proportions too! The ebb and flow of the fortunes of war were palpable. I would probably try to avoid Comrade Trotsky for a little while...

Congratulations to both Xavier and Pierre for putting on such a show (lovely figures and terrain as usual) and thank you for sharing it with us here.
