Battles in The Age of War / BAW basing clarification
August 27, 2025, 01:44:40 PM
Morning all,
Im working on my first BAW clan (Hara Toratane) for a Takeda army. Per the rules, the infantry basing seems very straight forward, but I think I've confused myself regarding the cavalry and mounted hatomoto basing.

Should I be using a 30x40mm, with two cavalry figures and a foot figure? If so, what kind of foot figure would you suggest (samurai, ashigaru etc).

Thanks!

Here are a bunch of pictures of my first foray into ACW, some Rebs for an 1862 multiplayer campaign we're playing at the local gaming club. Absolutely loving the figures.

I've since ordered a bunch of heads from Mick Selman in Oz.

One quick queation/suggestion. Do you have any plans to do heads in Hardee hats, for the 'classic'Iron Brigade look, or for cavalry casualty figures.

Pretty amazing range.

Thanks lads - I was completely unaware of the existence of the head sets, they're a perfect solution! And we do play some other sets at the club, Altar of Freedom in 6mm for the larger battles, and have dabbled in Picketts Charge. Although F&F is getting on, and misses a bit of the friction I love in wargames, its pretty quick and intuitive.

As im putting together my first ever Fire and Fury force, I was wondering if you have any plans to add to the range - specifically any mounted Confederate cavalry in kepi, Western Union command in hats standing, or even early troops in frock coat and havelock?
Absolutely gorgeous figures by the way!
