haven't read the Sea rules yet but have had a good look at the Land rules, crazy really because we mostly got it for sea battles!

I think we'll end up trying to make our own board.
My mate loves cloth ones he does himself but I really like mdf boards I can flock and texture myself. Though with so many projects on the go between us at the moment i'll more than likely end up adding a mat to my Ship/Pirate order at some stage anyway.

talked a mate into a Pirates game and we have settled on Pieces of Eight even though we know nothing about it.
Going to put an order in for the 2019 Rules and a "starter" set each.
How many Ships will we need each and roughly how many Pirates (roughly)?
