Noting Martin's request for photos I asked Dene Green if I could share these cameo pieces from the Mexican Federal Army that he used at the recent Square Bashing 1915 day. Dene also kindly supplied details of the figures used.

The Mariachi Band. Essex ACW band (Mix from both packs BGE10 & BGE11) with PP Sombreros head swops.



Firing Squad:

Victims PP "Western" townspeople or train crew but could use ACW78 casualties.



Mounted officer & firing squad:
QRF Battles in Mexico but PP suitable figures are available.

Martin, if Simon P can help Chris Peers through the rules in the morning whilst your rebels fight of those Mexican Feds, are you OK playing Chris Peers in the afternoon game? 

Yes, Chris is an author of many other books, including most of the Osprey MAAs on Chinese armies.

We usually stick to a maximum of 620pt. I know that it can be annoying when the odd few points do not quite fit but in my experience once you allow an over-point lee-way it can get a little out of hand. Perhaps something we can all discuss on Saturday. If we feel it necessary, I can suggest a system that is used in other periods by the Oxford club. Ray

Dear Miles, that will certainly not happen this year. The person concerned is unlikely to play SB again & certainly not at one of our SB day events. Thank you for sticking with it and let's look forward to some relaxed fun 1915 themed games.

All good now as I have found us a 10th player. Chris Peers will join us. I will lend him a 1915 German army army to play Simon P's British. Chris has sat in on a couple of games at Burton last year but has not played before. I trust Simon will guide him the morning & hopefully stay with Chris in the afternoon. Now that is sorted I will email the R&R out to all the players later today.

Square Bashing 1915 - URGENT!

This year Battlefield Hobbies are heavily booked. Nothing available in June or most of July. At the roughly same time of year as last we have only two options:

Sat 31 May 2025 or Sunday 6 July 2025.

We only have a provisional tag on these dates so please give me some feedback here on availability & preferences ASAP
