Square Bashing 1915 - URGENT!

This year Battlefield Hobbies are heavily booked. Nothing available in June or most of July. At the roughly same time of year as last we have only two options:

Sat 31 May 2025 or Sunday 6 July 2025.

We only have a provisional tag on these dates so please give me some feedback here on availability & preferences ASAP

Thanks

PBI / Destroyed German tank objective markers for sale
August 09, 2024, 12:27:38 PM
I recently sold my PBI & FOW armies. I only have remaining these knocked-out German tank objective markers. Resin painted. Is anyone interested before I put them in the B&B at BRITCON this weekend? All sensible offers considered as I would prefer they go to someone in this fine forum. One batch of 6 or two batches of 3.

Martin,

kindly add me in so that we can have contributions from the Burton club. Thanks Ray

I would prefer 29th July.

The 6th July clashes with the proposed anniversary weekend series of Monmouth Rebellion Tours and Talks that will uncover the whole Sedgemoor Battlefield, from Chedzoy to Westonzoyland and back. Fighting for Liberty Live | Facebook

Announcements and Shows / Re: Beachhead 2024

Great looking game gents! It re-kindles my idea to do a amphibious landing game for Gallipoli 1915. A few years ago I bought  a 5 x 3 mat with the sea & beach longways for this. I already will try it out as a club game at Burton when I get my ANZACs painted up. I have the Ottomans painted & based.

Excellent stuff Martin. I suggest that you revamp the ECW Plague doctors photo just like that. You should sell loads in the current crisis.  :P

Regiment of Foote (ECW) / Re: ECW atlas looks good

I recently caught an excellent 'live' on-line talk that the author gave at the National Army Museum about his methodology on this book. It is available here, though I'm not sure how long for, so best spend an hour on this sooner rather than later: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/civilwaratlas.
NB: Move the scroller in for 8 minutes for the start.

Book Depository (OK, not that small, but also not Amazon) has it at the same discounted price as Amazon.

Simon

No coincidence as I think that since 2011 Book Depository has been owned by Amazon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_Depository

As much as I'd prefer to support independent book shops, a £22 discount on a book that has been out for about a month - it has to be done. Just ordered mine.
My sentiments entirely about supporting the independents but I also succumbed  with that much of a saving. My wife is buying it for  my Christmas present , so this enabled me to buy another ECW hardback book with the saving. I do not feel too guilty about all this as during the Covid crisis I have been buying at least one book a month direct from Helion. Sometimes two  when they have their 20% sale days on. Next month I'm lining this one up, THE CAMPAIGNS OF SIR WILLIAM WALLER, 1642-1645: https://www.helion.co.uk/military-history-books/the-campaigns-of-sir-william-waller-1642-1645-.php?sid=5e74b5e5dd20db88621701538f30585f

That is a great looking game chaps. The grid is invisible too!

Excellent. :)

Just subtle dots with a dab of paint done before these mats with faint grid lines or cross-hairs became commercially available.

As for 'shiny' I still quite like gloss varnish for the C19th as it shows the uniform detail up well but I do know that this is a question of taste. The Prussians have been matted over but I think I may gloss them again!
