Yep, you were right. Several turns later, the Dervish have another unit hidden on the table, and more unscouted terrain pieces including one to the rear of the British. It's getting interesting  :)

Patrols in the Sudan / Dervish appearing/disappearing

Having another try of PITS after a break of a few(?) years. Playing solo.

I'm struggling a bit with the appearing/disappearing rules. In my game, I have 3 terrain pieces and one Dervish unit. The scouts have scouted all terrain pieces, and one Dervish rifle unit has appeared in one of them, and driven off the scout. They then successfully rolled to unscout the terrain piece that they are in, and also to disappear.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but they can't disappear into the other 2 (scouted) terrain pieces? So if they disappear, it can only be into the same piece they are occupying?

Which leads me to the question, if all terrain pieces are scouted, is the Events Table the only way for Dervish units to disappear and appear?

Hi

I've just started a (solo) game using 6mm figs on single 60mmx30mm bases. I mark casualties using 5mm dice. Seems to be working OK, you just have to mentally remember to take off the losses when counting half bases for shooting etc.

I originally intended to use 4" squares, but found that it was a bit tight to fit 3 units plus a general and a gun in the squares, so ended up going to 6" squares.
