Doh! Don't know how I overlooked them when I was sorting out my order!

I seem to remember there was once a PP WW1 pack of seated EW British infantry/drivers to crew 'Old Bill' buses which would be ideal for both Government and US (with headswaps) units - or is my memory playing tricks?

Are the drivers etc for the Dodge Tourers separate castings and, if so, can they be bought separately?

Preparing for my 2025 project, I 'need' some seated drivers and passengers for various trucks and other transport, for Government, Rebel and US forces of the Mexican Revolution

There must be something suitable out there, maybe using head swaps as required - can anyone point me in the right direction, ideally from a PP range (of course) but other alternatives considered.

Thanks!

Grumbles / New EU regulations?
November 25, 2024, 12:03:53 PM
What's this I hear about dozens of UK hobby manufacturers stopping supply to EU and Northern Ireland because of new regulations being introduced in December?

No dog in this fight but cannot be good for the hobby ☹️

Must admit, I'd not spotted the market place section here!

The AWI lot has already sold but there's some other stuff that may be of interest to the membership here - I'll take a look at what might be appropriate

Hope this is allowed (please delete the post if not!), just wanted to let you know I'm listing a job-lot of AWI packs that are surplus to requirements to help fund the next piggy project.

Should be easy enough to find if you search for 15mm AWI Peter Pig and, of course, I'm open to offers 🙂

If you've not already done so, now's the time to vote for your favourite figure manufacturer 🙂
#9
Peter Pig was identified by the organisers as one of 8 key players in the industry who got a free pass into the quarterfinals - 16 other manufacturers were chosen by popular vote and were then whittled down by further votes against each other - so Baccus won against Old Glory by 296 votes to 154. Some of the ties have attracted over 1000 votes so it'll be interesting to see how this next round goes.

I see PP is drawn against Baccus6mm in the next round of the poll on FB. Pity 2 of the 'smaller' companies (in figure size rather than stature!) are in competition!

Terrain and Figures / WW2 Far East
April 30, 2024, 09:33:47 PM
With all the excitement about the forthcoming TFL Far East supplement(s) for their Chain of Command rules, has there been any noticeable increase in orders for PP Japanese, 14th Army etc?

To date, most of my WW2 gaming has been in 20mm (sorry!) but as this will be a new 'sideshow' I'm tempted to do it in 15mm, partly because of cost and partly because the unique terrain won't take up so much room.

It's an excellent guide, alongside "One King!" by Stephen Carter (from Helion).

I'm thinking that some of the new ECW musketeers, appropriately painted, might be a closer approximation of the Government forces though the coats and use of apostles might not be quite right.

Anyone know how well Lurkio Miniatures scale with PP? They do a 9 Years War range that might provide the opposition but I'd prefer to use PP.

Workbench and Suggestions / 1685 Monmouth Rebellion?
April 18, 2024, 09:57:45 PM
Evening all,

Returning to the 'one true scale' for my next project - the 1685 Monmouth Rebellion (and potentially the Williamite wars that followed it).

Planning to use mainly PP ECW figures for the rebels (close enough in this scale) but got a couple of questions:

1) any chance of a pack of scythemen to add a bit more period flavour?

2) would the Government troops in the Pirates range be a close enough approximation of the regular army and militia of the 1680's given the right paint job?  (I'm not a button counter where such things are concerned!)

All other comments and suggestions very welcome!

Sorry, chaps, I think those last couple of comments are far more gratuitously offensive than the use of 'Triumph of the Will' as the title for a set of rules focused on that particular period of European history.

But maybe I'm the one being sensitive.

Square Bashing / Re: Operation Lockdown

Or use letter/number references for each square on the table: A1, D4 etc and define all actions from/to the specific square reference?
