Like others I've got a lot of paints.  I mostly use GW these days with a few Vallejo.

I would love to see an Osprey campaign on the SYW battle of Hochkirch 1758

Very content.  Thank you.

Five Battlescale 10mm Half-timbered houses.  A few packs of 15mm OG SYW Prussians to allow me to paint up another couple of battalions.  Some W&N Series 7 brushes.

Actually, I've just remembered, I have four or five 10mm Battle Scale half timbered buildings to paint over the festive period as a treat for my SYW. collection.   :-*

Nothing much going on for several months now as work plus commission work is priority.  My on-going project for the last two years or so is 15mm Seven Years War for Honours of War rules.  I've got a dozen battalions on the workbench for next year.  Reichsarmee and Prussian Garde.

Don't assume that every figure near the table is there for a legitimate reason! At my wargames club near Waterloo Station in London I was providing the "reinforcements". I dutifully humped 2 photocopy boxes, each with 3 layers, of 28mm ECW figures from Cambridge to work and then to the club. They sat on the edge of the table awaiting their call - which never came. When the game was over the organiser told us there was never a possibility of reinforcement but it was imperative that all players believed that reinforcements were on their way and that time was critical. What better way to do this?

Hmmm.

I have done this more than a few times over the years.  Sometimes I've got the players to bring their own extra figures.  Sometimes it's my own.  Usually it involves Russians.  In a WW2 game I placed loads of Russian infantry in close proximity to the table.  I've done the same with a dozen Cossack units in SYW and Napoleonic scenarios but then more than a few times with ACW Confederates to instil a bit of fear in Union commanders.

Check your dice.

Several times in the past I or my opponents have discovered mid-game they were using the old Salute dice with two number ones on it.

A battered Lilliput Lane ceramic, approx 10mm, windmill I picked up at a car boot.  Repaired, repainted it.  Rebased it.

Two packs of Broadside Markers for POE Sea Actions.  Too much on the commission bench.

Will take some next time Sean.  Promise.

Workbench and Suggestions / POE Sails Pack

Hi,

Just a thought.  A couple of sails packs, just the ones from models, but available separately, would be dead useful in converting ships for variety.

I need to bring this to the club at some point Moggy and John.

Prompted by the boy we returned this week to 'Pieces of Eight' Sea Actions.  We haven't played it perhaps in at least eighteen months.  Damn, so much fun.

I'm not a fan at all of naval gaming but let me tell you, Pirates I can get into.  We've played a couple of games each day this week and had a real hoot.  The narratives of the games are just fantastic.

Announcements and Shows / Re: US shows

What a plonker.

Personally, I seldom ever play at a show.  I've helped Too Fat Lardies at a few shows in the past, meeting and greeting, providing liquid refreshment to Big Rich but playing, er no.

I hate competitions, or more correctly and importantly, competition minded folk.  It's just not me. I'm not a fan of participation games either.  Part of it is I just don't feel comfortable.  I get almost over stimulated by the fun of the show, picking up orders and buying, chatting etc and can't concentrate nor think straight.

I'm in my comfort zone hosting or at friends or at the rare occasions at the club.

The whole US set up really, really doesn't do it for me.

Horses for courses.

General discussion / Re: Dice rolling

I usually use the packaging sent by Peter Pig as the basis for a dice tray.  Narrow and not very high, they are ideal.  Plus I like to recycle as much as I can.  My die rolling cup is a spray paint cap too.
