Did river crossing. Defenders were army. attackers were Mexicans. Templates reduced from 10 to 6. 2 removed due to defender using river, 2 removed due to their proximity to river.
A game of two flanks. Neither interacted with the other. On one flank was the defender defence piece and on the other 2 defender groups holding buildings and very rough hills.
On the defence piece flank the attacker advanced with a pistol unit and a veteran cavalry unit. The cavalry got shot to pieces and withdrew to hold the ford. The defenders also had ab NG on this flank but it did not achieve much (jammed). The pistols luckily got hold of the liability as it tried to make a break for it. Very lucky for the attackers. The pistols seemed to lead a charmed life from being shot at.
On the other flank the defenders held buildings and a very rough hill. A big raw attacker group got in amongst the buildings and managed to stay pretty complete. The 3 attacker units outnumbered and outshot the defenders and gradually diminished them.
Both sides got their reinforcements on quite quickly. The attackers were quite lucky and won the game by a goodly margin. The liability changing hands made a big difference.
Stewart and Rob were the army(defending) . martin and Mike were the Mexicans(attacking)
The game went smoothly and quickly (1.5 hours) with no game extension.
Well done Attackers!
Where were Stewart's lucky dice?
Sounds like the game is more balanced now?
My lucky die we're more than negated by Rob's unlucky die, I mean how many 1's can you roll in a game!
