What do people think of these
Anyone here got a printer and can estimate the print cost.
Are there local shops with printers?

In 2D (prints, that is - the models make up into 3D card buildings), there is also this (a whole town - not just one building!), which look pretty good [I think these featured in several of Henry Hyde's articles a few years back): http://www.erichotz.com/whitewash.html

The miners shack looks pretty good for a model, there is a lot of design time to make the printable file.
The detail in the model looks excellent.

I'll keep you posted on the cost of the printed model in 15mm from an english printer.

Mmm... that would appear to be a breach of the "personal, non-commercial use" part of the terms and conditions of those STL files...

The saloon, bank and miners shack are all £13 each, the log cabin is £11 (15mm scale)

Yep! Stirrers it is. I shall make a few basic wood sided/shingle roof. A few small windows, as is common on frontier  buildings. I can pit up some pictures when they are done. Maybe a magazine article?????

What is this making up houses for Western in 28mm? Do we need this for something, I would be willing to give some a try if someone wants some, I have got plenty of lollipop sticks, matches (headless.) And balsa wood for just such projects.
Let me know if you want me to try and build something.

Sounds very interesting. Thanks for taking the plunge Stewart. Print 3D might have  a viable future?   Can you also put photo shots of your new camps etc on this site??

Thanks Duncan, about the buildings. I am just making 3 buildings for the Western rules. I shall use foam-board and stirrers! These buildings are to show how the rules can be used for 25mm games. When the buildings are finished I shall ask folk to play some 25mm hames to see if the western rules work aesthetically.  i.e does it feel fine in terms of range and view.
