Title: Company assets
Post by: DavidH on October 20, 2017, 12:11:49 PM
Hi there
Just got the new BI rules. A bit confused about ASSETS !
They are listed with a numerical value based on the chance of being used / allocated to a company? You have 3 assets?
Are they chosen by dice rolls ? how many attempts ? do you get to claim a particular asset?
Probably an obvious answer but I can't see it?

No problem Dave. see if i can help.
I wil break it down too for clarity.
Each company has a choice of 10 different assets.
First you choose the three you would like. There is no restriction on the ones you choose.

Go get 3 cups from the kitchen.  plastic beakers would be fine rather than the three best porcelain ones!
label the cups with a quick marker. e.g. Basque company I choose HE,Smoke and air support.  so may 3 cups are labelled "HE", "smoke" and "air support"
In the HE cup I will put 3 D6. In the Smoke cup I will put 7 D6. In the Air support cup I will put 2D6. Total of 12D6 in the cups! The numbers 3,7,2 are from the Basque asset table  page 90
At the start of each of MY game turns i will look at the cups and decide which one I would like to use.
having chosen, I then remove any number of D6 from those within the cup. i can only take D6 from a single cup each turn but i can take any amount of the D6 i like. i then roll the D6 and if I get a 6 then the asset happens (multiple 6s are no extra help).
The D6 i have just  rolled do not go back in the cup. I now have my 3 cups but one of those cups has less D6 in it.
I look at the cups at the start of each of my turns. When D6 are rolled they are no longer part of the game.

Welcome to the forum Dave. Great explanation from Martin. I might actually get some healers for this purpose for the club members I play with.

Dave

If you can get down to Weymouth, pop into a Levellers club night or if you're close to Stoke let me know and we could meet at my club. Either option will give you the opportunity play a game and learn from the experts !
