The new set of bayonet and ideology will be out in 3 weeks. There is a discount for re-ordering if that helps. In addition, i have put 6 videos up on the PP website. Play testers get theirs first though!
Great news Martin.
Thank you! I think they will be great??!!!
A classic in my view 😀
Wardy
Great that you have completed them.
Hope they are well received in the wargames world.
Certainly puts another set of rules out in a period that is under represented.
Always a highlight when the new set arrives. The videos are great. Is there going to be an in game video like with PBI and Vietnam to show how it all fits together??
Can't wait.
Excellent videos! Very focused and each one admirably brief - just what the punters want when contemplating diving into a new ruleset and then getting to grips with its various mechanics, I think!
Pre-ordered. Really looking forward to these rules. The videos are a great idea too. Very helpful
Those videos are really helpful. Big thumbs up to the brain behind the idea! :D
Nice to see Martin's posting on TMP advertising these new rules (there's a query awaiting reply on how these differ from the previous set of BAIT, in case anyone has a good answer to that):
http://theminiaturespage.com/news/?id=1245053161
and the new artwork [I'd not spotted the "stealthy" entry on the Rules section of the PP website previously].
I see that Les has already added a line to the thread on TMP: perhaps a number of us could chip in comments and "make some noise" on TMP about this exciting new release?
Thanks and good idea about chipping in!
Once TMP is back up and running (after its daily maintenance) for those of us in a civilised time zone, of course:)
Really like these - are they the best rules yet?
Wardy
Until Western is completed, of course :-)
But of course, the next set will always be better than the last, but whether or not you like the period is another matter!!!
It's all part of an insidious plot to lure you, unsuspecting, into new periods that you didn't think you'd like but now can't resist because of the shiny new rules...
And the new figures and vehicles

And the new figures and vehicles
Quite - it's a vicious circle...
You'd think Mr Pig had been reading Machiavelli or something...
Yes Machiavelli has some interesting insights on warfare and diplomacy. Most of what he says comes out as common sense. Some is very fixed in the brutality and communication ability of the renaissance.
So when are the new vehicles coming if you do not mind me asking as well? Sorry if it is perceived as inappropriate to enquire if you have given this elsewhere. I have been looking out for it but to no avail.
Helo Duncan
4 new vehicles. Should be ready by Friday 6th oct. That is the plan, but you now how the best laid plans of mice and men.....
I hadn't previously spotted the nice AAR: http://www.peterpig.co.uk/SCWplaytest.html
Fine-looking buildings and figures, chaps!
Yes those pictures are great. The buildings look great!
Does anyone know what the PDF version will cost when released in December?
Cheers
Simon
Is there not a Wargames mag that has a reader poll for game of the year? If so gets my vote (for what its worth).
Wardy
If all 181 members voted for SCW in the Wargames Soldiers and Strategy annual wargames survey, I'm pretty sure it would do well in any poll.
can we vote more than once then!
Er, I don't know! But unless my maths is wrong 181 members as per the front page voting once each makes.....181 votes ;D. Maybe we could link in with the Russians to sabotage the other votes. Or back some computers...
Sean
Saw on TMP you have a large bespoke scenery order, what did you get?
Wardy
I've got all the hills, town and wood templates I need for SCW in a rather nice dried earth finish. I also got some marsh pieces in the regular brown and green flock which are the nicest ones I've seen Simon do us a load more woodland templates which can be used for ithe rthings like rough ground with some ricks and stones scattered on them.
Sounds good, looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. Today has consisted of 5k run at 7.30, followed by gymnastics for Ava at 9, tennis practice for her 10.30-12.30, lunch and then her golf lesson 2.30-3.30 followed by some shopping. In between which I have been answering work emails pending a HMIC visit a week on Monday. Busy busy busy!
How's the golf going for your 9 year old.
So your picking up the finer points of tennis and gymnastics.
She's only 7 Les but doing well at both golf and tennis. although she l!she'd a team match in Shrewsbury today against girls a year or two older and lost all 5 sets 😕 Still proud of her as you would expect.
No sign of any interest in toy soldiers other than to want to try and paint the odd building or two.
Rules are great. Well done everyone involved.
Need to get some buildings now. What options are available out there?
I've seen mention of SHQ for buildings - anything else worth looking at?
Thanks,
Nick
Hovels are still going so I am told. There is an MDF company called Empires at War or something similar who do lovely prepainted buildings that would be suitable.
I may try to build one or two of my own using cork board and plastic sheet for the pantiles.
I like the look of those Empires at War buildings Sean. Thanks for flagging up.
The hovels are great but need chimneys and a lot of tidying up. The excellent level of detail n the originals makes painting very easy and effective. i just base coated and then dry brushed. They look great at distances too.
Aren't yours the SHQ ones Martin? The castings on the ones I have are a tad rough but nice designs. And they do need chimneys!
I do think that someone used to make chimneys for these buildings.

I believe that a prominent member of this Forum sculpted and cast a bunch of chimneys to fit the SHQ buildings for his own use, and that there may even have been talk of making them available commercially at some point...?
I wil get a chimney mould made and make them available if that helps?
If you build them, the punters will come!
Just received my copy of the new rules: very nice!
I think the photos in particular are great - perhaps the best yet in an RFCM ruleset?
Every new set is the best yet!!
That's evolution for you Les!
When is the PDF going to be available?
Hello
the intention is to get a pdf ready for early jan or over xmas at some point. Vietnam is keeping the design team very busy at the moment!!
Don't want to interrupt the design team when they are on a roll with the next set of sculpts.
Any chance of some female SCW heads, when chance allows?
Wardy
hats? or hair?
Mike is still moulding your chimneys Dave!!
two with hats and both with hair!
should do for the western figures as well.
Hi Martin
Being greedy, hats and hair would be good.
I hope Santa does not get stuck?
