Title: The Stage Coach
Post by: Leslie BT on August 18, 2017, 04:40:22 PM
Which faction is going to get the Stage coach. QRF do a killer version, a recast of the original Freikorp version.

Might be included as a liability. Liabilities are part of the rules ideas at the moment. This means the defender will often have a liability.

Duncan already has a stage coach so he may be able to give the low down?

It is a nice model, but a lot of excess metal to be filed away. I find that with a lot of yes/art stuff. I have had two of the same thing before, one fine ready to assemble and the other needing filing to high heaven and back. Not sure why that should be? Anyway, mine took a lot of filing so not finished yet I have to say. Just finished my railway locomotive. Sent photos to Martin. Will do photos of Stagecoach once it is done.

Some from TSS, most are minifigs, will show when complete .
Looking for a book to show correct skin pigment and clothing colours

That's great Duncan, anymore we can start our own stage line.
Your shed going to be a games room as well?

I don't think that there will be enough room. It is only 12' by 8' and is housing my model railway 1/76 scale (OO) as well as my desk and LEGO.

Having said that the conservatory will be emptied and will house the dining table that folds up/down so we will be able to get the models out of the shed and game in the conservatory. (I hope?)

Upsettingly I had the first massive arachnid in the shed, a 4" one!! I thought I had done the best to make it spider proof, lining it all, taping up the gaps etc. It is bright white inside so it is easy to spot them but still scary.

Duncan you'll be doing sci-fi games hunting the spider.

Stewart your stage coach looks good does it have any more figures?
Was your model from the same source as Duncans?

with the stage coach you get 4 passengers driver and guard.
I don't know where Duncan got his from.
Thanks for the info Les
Minifig foot apaches are bigger and in my opinion better than TSS.
Minifig mounted apaches are separate from the pony with no tack except bridle
TSS mounted are one casting and look good with interesting poses.
Irregular Indians seem generic and I only bought one mounted casting as my force leader -
Name- B.F.I. (Big f******g Indian).
Painted 32 mounted and leader, started on 32 foot, have more on order
Should be varnished and based by End of the week

My Stagecoach is from TSS/QRF. I have finished painting it now but just trying to base it and attach horses etc.
I painted it in the same colours as the train.

My one is now ready. I have sent photographs to Martin, but please consider it is not actually one of his models.

It is on the X connector now.
Duncan may i suggest that you try a pale blue background , so the model does not come out darker due to colour contrast?

Because stage coaches seem popular they can of corse be used as a liability. Just one though.  I expect themost applicable will be gunmen, townsfolk??

Reading about stage robberies. one chap claims they robbed a stage, let it go, then it disappeared!
Apparently many years later the stage wreckage was found in a chasm that had just appeared and then closed up.
The chap served long sentence.

The stagecoach ie ever popular. i have ridden in one a few times in California. One is aware of how very high up the stage is. Went on top too. that really is too high, but a good view.
The most recent one in film was the hateful 8.

Very atmospheric picture of the stage coach under the 'x'. Like dusk is falling and the occupants just hope they reach town before the bandits arrive and rob them 😃

Many films,
John Ford's Stagecoach 1939.
Gordon Douglas Stagecoach 1966.
Ted Post Stagecoach 1986.
And a couple of made for tv films as well.

An iconic aspect of the old west.

Thank you. I painted it in dark colours so that the livery matches that of the railway station and locomotive from the other day. I like to think that the CDCM company has a monopoly on public transport around the area of Dootsvillas!☺
