Good question John. I really do not know. Which is good enough reason to claim they are "just fine"...... maybe someone knows w better.  Apparently the legion used then too. I expect legion kit would come from France???

I chose German flamethrowers Martin due to the support to the Nationalists by the Condor Legion, and Ospreys tank book says the Germans replaced a machine gun on a PZ1 with a man portable set I.e. they had taken some to Spain. Regards.

If you go past the combat record you'll find a section on flamethrowers in Spain. It says Germany via the Condor Legion supplied the Nationalists.
