Sorry, not any help for those extra apples and pears. :-[
British martini-henry rifles would often jam after continued use.
This is probably important enough to be part of PITS, although we might just leave it out?
Here is the proposal
1. Applies only to British foot, as they are the big shooters. The martini was got rid of in the British units (not in the Sudanese) before the Omdurman campaign.
2. If ever a shot achieves 3 hits. e.g.4,4,6 a jammed result is applied to a shooter base. The probability of this is one shot in 8.
3. The shooter base can no longer shoot.
4. An easy 3,4,5,6 action will allow 1 jammed to be removed. Therefore, the action would need to be carried out twice to remove 2 jams etc.
5. Use a jammed marker or better still a jammed base. Clearer. I dislike those little piles of stones/tiny D6/crystals that some games use to follow a unit about.
6. The consideration, is whether the mechanism helps get authenticity into the game or just slows the play down?
martin :)
I like the jammed mechanism and PP marker in PITS, which give the game "flavour". And the occasional dose of consternation for the British player. It makes you think before you shoot, and not necessarily do so just because you can!

Thanks Simon.
We are going to try it out and see if it "works"
Should be done or not done by the PITS day.
