Title: Provoked Fire by Unit Being Charged in AK-47 People’s Edition
Post by: Vorenus on September 21, 2025, 03:53:49 AM
As I read the assault rules in conjunction with the "Shooting When Provoked" rules, a unit being charged in a Short Assault will always be able to issue Opportunity Fire ("Opportunity shooting is allowed when the active player either starts a turn in face contact or moves into face contact").  Is this correct?

If so, then conceivably a passive unit could halt a charge against it by inflicting a hit against the charging unit and then successfully "trading in" the hit result for a pinned result, correct?

I don't think so.

P102 notes, says pinning cannot be used in response fire, so you can only pin in your own phase by trading in hits from paid for fire.

No "here they come" option as per pbi!

How odd. I've played probably 30+ games of AKPE and missed this rule entirely  ;D

Just shows you that you can teach an old dog new tricks!
