Martin does like to surprise us with little treats - I love the Plague Physicians that popped up over the weekend!

Here is the question. Central figure, what does he have in his raised hand??

A Renaissance form of hip flask?

A holy scroll to ward off evil spirits?

[am unsure whether dodgy brandy in the hip flask counts as an "evil spirit"...]

Oh my golly gosh, new stuff!  :)

Middle chap is holding either a bag of leeches, or some pot pourri in the air. Chap on the right is auditioning to be lead guitar in a new niche subgenre of heavy metal band.

Interesting!

The cane was used to prod the bodies of infected patients. I'll go with a bottle of leeches or a scented bottle of herbs.

Chapeau, colonel.

Actually I can't look at him now without hearing the opening guitar of Ziggy Stardust

Will go really nicely as a vignette with the Dead Cart from the WoTR collection too.  :D

The figure in the centre is obviously taking a selfie.

Ah - of course!

And the funny rods they're carrying must be very primitive selfie sticks (magnets had not yet been invented).

Thank you - I'm glad you've cleared that one up for me.

Great idea about the dead cart, especially as I have a spare.

Now I'm off to the former colonnies tomorrow for ten days. So I will be order ring these little rascals on return, any chance the cuirassier command will materialise so I can save on postage?

Here's my take on the plague physicians, complete with dead cart.

http://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2017/12/plague-wombles.html?m=1

You'll also find some regiments of foot, the ECW buildings, couple of bits from the dark ages range, and the pub sign* from the sprinkles pack on other posts.

* Although this has been attached to a 'not PP building', is that a heretical act? Although I think I can be forgiven for putting a real pub sign from the C17 on it. In case you are wondering I used magick to do it. ;-)

Welcome to the Forum, Radar: your figures look nice, and that's some great work on those lovely little Hovels models too!

As one of my bugbears is people posting links but without teasing an embedded photo I thought I'd rectify that (on desktop for a change)
