There was a SCW variant called Cuadro  Golpeando or something similar, but for the original. I think Martin Rapier of Wargames Developments wrote it. Very good it was too. I put on a participation game of it at Fisticuffs in around 1999.

Not seen anything for the current edition though. I'm sure it would be fairly easy to work something up though to play out larger battles than Bayonets and Ideology is designed for.

Thanks Sean , I'll give it a try . Also gives an opportunity to use multiple different types of figures as units in the same army . Cheers Alex

Conversely I wonder if Bayonet and Ideology would work for lower level games in WW1.

No reason why it shouldn't. About the only real difference is the trenches. May possibly be better suited toward the peripheral area such as East Africa though.

SCW was in the 30's, Mexican revolution at the same time as WW1 and ended? in 1920.  Both B&I and Mexico are not that much different as far as rulesets go.

Best bet is give it a go.  If it feels right then it probably is!
