Title: 4D Modelshop closing on 30th June
Post by: Colonel Kilgore on June 24, 2025, 10:39:34 PM
I was saddened to receive an email this afternoon announcing that the 4D Modelshop is definitively closing at the end of this month. Which seems very sudden.

I like their grass flock in particular, but they sell a wide range of useful things.

There are significant discounts between now and then.

That is a big surprise.
It was always very busy and  quite expensive too.
They only recently bought out the Northampton modelling supplies company.
I expect it is another victim/consequence of 3D modelling. Makers use less modelling materials, figurines, meshes, wire etc..

A surprise. Do they have any plans for a new office.

They don't seem to have said so publicly, but have been selling off all their stock so I'd guess not.

They do say that they're trying to revive their bespoke model-making service though.

I've received an email this morning saying that the 4D Modelshop website has been acquired by J Perkins, with a commitment to continue the good work of the former owners.

Sounds like good news?
