Title: Buying Zvezda

Have you bought any Zvezda stuff in the last two years?
They do make some very useful vehicles.

Some German Armoured cars...SDKFZ 222 I think and a couple of JS2's.

However, I think 3D print versions are preferable  these days for anything not made by Peter Pig (which will always be my first option 😉)

The last Zvezda kits I bought in 1/100 scale was a pair of SU76 SPGs. I do need to source some suitable crew, I'll probably use PP artillery crew which then leads to the question do I swap the heads for Russian Tanker Helmet ones?

Best wishes,
Martin, still holidaying in Zante

They do a lot of very useful vehicles.
I like their Valentine.
I suspect they will not be back in the next few years.

One thing these models are good for is Conversions ! Opel Blitz I made a Fire Engine from  years ago, I wouldn't been able to do that with a resin or metal model?

Good note Miles. Their wheeled vehicles were always very different to their tracked ones.
More pieces to the wheeled vehicles. This is a problem when the model becomes delicate for gaming use.

I've used their PzII, PzIII, T26 and T34s. I was impressed by how the 'kit' was a very simple snap together job, and still a decent amount of detailing.(I have no patience for Airfix-style stick-on-every-rivet kits these days, nor the eyesight for them...🙃).

It was a shame that their towed guns were not 1/100th too.
Have you ever met anyone that played their "Art of Tactic" game?

Bought loads when they first came out, as they were ridiculously cheap. Cheaper individually than GHQ 1/285 back in the day. Decent models too. Not looked at them since though.

Art of Tactic, no (I nearly bought a copy from the local Ian Allan shop before it closed down) but I did have their Lake Peipus set - Alexander Nevsky and all that. Felt like a very old fashioned set of rules, some interesting ideas that were awkward in actual play. Really needed a lot more figures to make it work properly and then the bookkeeping would have been a faff.
