Just had an email from Baueda
"I hope you don't mind me emailing you but I have some exciting news which, as a customer of Baueda via model-army.com, I wanted to share with you.
Model Army Ltd has just bought the "Baueda Wargames" brand and the rights to its products and designs (excluding 1-48 Tactic).
We have done this to ensure the continuing long term availability of these much loved Wargames Products, the previous owners having decided on a change in direction and so that they can concentrate on other projects.
We have also acquired their existing stock and will be adding this to our website stock, once it is available for dispatch.
Production will move from Italy to the UK and in the short term there may be some delays whilst UK production is being established. Please bear with us if items are showing as out of stock on the website over the next few months and let us know your interest in any specific items so we can factor that into production plans as appropriate.
This is a major step up for us from being UK stockist to owner manufacturer and I hope you will be able to support us in this journey.
Kind regards"
I know Martin said he was going to update his romans but isnt this a bit extreme.

Nice one Derek.

Good luck to them.
It must have been a big van full of moulds.
A big job getting that through customs.
What happened to the original owner?
martin :)
Well, that's the end of them for me as they would have to come back through customs. My wargames purchases from the UK are now limited to a few very specific companies. Everything else from the EU. Nothing from the US.
How do they match size wize with the Peter Pig range?

I used a few Baueda* to mix in with PP when I made my Viking army a while back. They were a decent match, as Baueda seem to have gone for more 'proper' 15mm than some of the scale-creep giants.
*...and a few Jacobite Miniatures, 1980's classics, IMHO.
It was indeed interesting getting it all through customs. Actually getting it out of Italy was worse than into the UK.
Anyway - they are here now and I hope to get some UK production up and running soon to add to existing stock.
PP are my "go to" for WWII figures for my own gaming (and we have some nice terrain bits to go with them).
Andy - hear what you say about UK shipping to the EU and I am working on being able to do so soon. Fingers crossed.
I've been very happy with my Baueda scenery pieces - very crisply made and they fill some interesting gaps in the market. As indeed do many of the figures.
Delighted that Mr Model Army (is this Brian?) has joined us here, and wishing you the best of luck in getting the Baueda ranges up and running here in the UK.

Totally concur, Simon, on both points. So good to hear of a manufacturer being revived rather than closed up 👍🏼👍🏼. Well done, Mr Model-Army ✔️
