Have you put out some assault guns in your PBI army.
I have seen Stug III s on the table but not Hetzers, Marders, Archers,SU76 etc.
Is it due to the restricted arc or the lack of models?
They are cheaper on points though.
martin :)
I have frequently used StuGs, and find them good value. The nice big gun usually makes up for the lack of turret :)
Simon
I can't recall seeing Archer models, but feel sure they must exist. As do Italian SPGs. So I don't think it's a dearth of models.
Maybe folks just like their Tanks?
Simon
I've fielded Marder IIIs before
Derek
I've fielded Stug IIIs, Russian ones (can't remember which but big late war ones) and a Priest SPA. I've never found the lack of a turret to be a problem.
John
I have used Stuggs, marders and Russian SU-85's
Stewart
Stugs and SU85's for me too. I enjoy using them!
I have 90% finished a 1940 panzershutzen company which has 2 stug A in support.
However, I do have a question. In the architect listings, it does not mention which vehicles (mainly SPGs) do not have MG secondary armament. Early stugs and elephants just to name two. How do people deal with 'small shooting' from such vehicles? Just go with what they know so a stug A, for instance, doesn't get small shooting or is there a rational that allows small shooting for such vehicles?
Hello Bob
WW2 has a large amount of differing weapon and vehicle types.
PBI makes general rules for vehicles.
You are of course quite right about some assault guns having no MG. Some were also open topped. Without generalising the rules would become clogged and slow.
We need to avoid the "reveals" aspect of WW2 gaming.
Thus, all vehicles are assumed to have the MG ability.
