Am I correct in assuming that each asset can only be used once in a game?
Thanks
Hi Garry,
You pick 3 assets to use during the course of the game.
Note down the values of each. Let's say you choose HE, Experienced leader and Sniper.
So if you have 10 for sniper, you choose how many of those 10 dice to roll during the asset phase in an attempt to gain the asset.
Let's say you feel lucky. You choose to roll 3 in turn 1. You now have 7 dice left in your asset 'bank'.
You roll 3,5,1. Damn. The sniper has left his rifle behind.
Next turn you go for HE. You've 6 dice amd have a very tempting target. You roll all 6 dice, meaning you have no dice left in HE. Your roll 2,4,4,5,6,6.
You achieve the HE asset (only once though, evem though you've rolled two 6's!).
Next turn you try for Sniper again. Feeling really lucky, you roll one die. A '6'. That IS lucky.
Your sniper arrives and you've still 6 dice left for the rest of the game.
Have I confused you? 😅
In your second turn, you
Thanks Sean, so in your example if I roll the remaining 6 dice and get another 6- I get a second sniper?
Absolutely. You can use assets as many times as you like provided you still have dice left in the bank.
John
I really like the assets system because it makes players consider their options. There is often no correct choice.
Especially pleasing when one allots just 1D6 and gets the asset.
There is a complete video about assets.
assets are in SB, PBI, SCW and other sets too.
martin :)
I'm a cautious player and like to roll 6 dice if I have them. This might mean I use all of my dice in an asset at once, or leave only 2 or 3 for the rest of the game.
More aggressive players might roll 1 or 2 dice, in the hope they can achieve the asset multiple time. Great for big effect assets like HE.
Thanks for all the replies, I should have known that if it was a one time use. Martin would have said so! However I am putting on a game at my club next week, so I wanted to be sure.
