Hopefully can do both.
Friends of Peter Pig will field AK47 for the day, Wild Geese is the theme, Simon is going to come up with a Scenario from the film-book ?
Do I do a proper table like I did for Monte Cassino or keep it as we would normally play it ?  Thoughts please ?

I have already got Wild Geese scenario for AK47 and it has been play tested a few times

I'll send you and Simon a copy

Very good it is too.

So much so, I ordered a pack of officers wearing berets. They will be Burton, Harris and Moore ready to lead the men next time we play it.

My thoughts would be to do patches/templates of sculpted specific scenery.
They can then be placed on a cloth which would make the whole set up easier to make and transport?

Good idea Martin.

It's also easier to reuse / repurpose some or all of the terrain for other games if they are separable like this.

I agree Simon.
I think Miles prefers to do base boards that cover a whole table.
In which case I would suggest not MDF.
I am sure it will be a piece of art from Miles.

I don't mind, I thought I would put it out there to see what people think ?
I can either do what we would normally do for a game. Or several boards sculpted?
The Consensus seems normal Templates.
This will give me an opportunity to make my own "Jungle" templates ? That I ve put off for a while.
Now my other thought if it's the latter half of the film.
The Mercenaries would be the defenders and the Africans would be the attackers?

I would look on it as more of a tribute to the film rather than playing it out exactly as on the screen.

The Defenders have to try and keep hold of the President. They also need to try and attack the airport to prevent the plane leaving.

The Attackers have to rescue the President and get him to the plane. During our game, the Attackers dug in (take cover) around the plane with one unit to stop the Defenders getting to it, and awaited the arrival of the President.

The Attackers fell one square short of the plane when we played making it a very tense game!

A radical thought.
As Stewart has already done a Wild Geese game how about do something different?

The Dogs of War film was very good and makes a good game.

Jadotville was a real action and also makes a good game.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Jadotville

We might need a special figure armed with Christopher Walken's Manville gun?  ;)

That would actually be a good AK idea Simon.
