The galaxy is apparently very big.
I was musing about how humans might populate the suitable planets. These planets might be so far apart that the humans never get to visit more than the next planet along.
Communication might be OK but travel not so much.
Similar to earth in ancient days. Not much "around the globe" travel. "Known worlds"?
Technology can be shared although resources might not be consistent.
Are there enough earth type planets to form a chain?
A lot of this thinking will depend on travel speed and the safety of travel.
Maybe a lot of robot crewed explorer craft. Potentially cheap and disposable.
I do not think there will be crewed mission to mars for a 100 years.

I am thinking of painting my Legionaries as Galactic space marines
What colour should their uniform?
I believe Osprey do a book about them but I can't find a copy
Stewart
The authentic colour will be important Stewart. Otherwise, passers by who have "the knowledge(tm)" will need to stand still and correct your mis reading of history.
martin :)
The grim darkness of the far future where there is only war necessitates the use of only bright primary colours for your Super Space Commandos.
Anything else is just not cricket afraid.
Not just bright colours Sean but alliterative and obscure name colours.
Thus, yellow should be "nun night nihilism".
Blue is "Barons boffy bun".
That way we can tie the gamer into the "TCR universe" (possibly not?).
??
Also there will be a new set of D6 where the numbers are swapped. Thus the faces that were 1,2,3,4,5,6 will now be 2,3,1,4,5,6 or 0+1,1+1,1+2,2+2, 6-1,3+3 Genius (?).

Stewart, The Osprey book is: Nazi galactic space marines of the third reich. Apparently it's one of their best sellers.
Best wishes,
Martin, from a small settlement west of the prime meridian.
I may have that one Martin. I will check and
lend it to Stewart

This documentary film from 2012 details how the Nazis went to the moon.
Wasn't the Nazi landing on the moon revealed to be a fake? Or is that just a conspiracy theory?

No it was real. It gave Elvis quite a shock when he went there!
That's good to know, Sean. I hate conspiracy theories.
Good to think they would have had plenty of cheese to eat on arrival on the Moon too, until they got themselves properly sorted.
Simon
Martin of course does the storm trooper in gas mask appropriate for a Nazis on the moon game based on this documentary. In fact I bought some packets shortly after I watched the Iron Sky. Hmmm like most of my projects it was never realized. Perhaps they will get a shout in the new Sci Fi rools.

One thing I would say from my 'Laserburn' days when painting units - pauldrons/shoulder armour flashes/colours can be used to denote a unit or rank. I discovered one of my Baden commanders during the Thirty Years War sported a red pauldron. It was on his 3/4 armour tomb effigy. A neat solution to an old problem - different timeline. I also spotted it on a sergeant? in one of the original Star Wars fillums. My power-suited Laserburn characters had paint schemes like those of WW1 German air aces - again for ready identification. Chequer, harlequin, flames, black and white etc. Once you turn on any ECM the paint job underneath really one matters to the Mk1 eye ball. I found Chris Foss's space artwork inspirational...
I must say I am liking the Iron Sky vibe... there is potential to incorporate Weird Wars and Pulp figure sources methinks
Neil
One benefit of using TCR is that any figures (within reason) can be used.
It is however ver important that the figures look worth killing.
By this I mean that the game looks worth playing. An opponent that fields drawing pins and peanuts has not contributed to the game illusion.
They could use Daleks or Jedi for praetorians. They might want special detailed rules, but that is not available in TCR. They would have to add some of their own rule modifications.

They are part way there so please don't give them ideas

The Greater Garmillas Empire from 'Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199' also has the appropriate totalitarian vibe...
