I like to put forward new ideas for players to use.

Here is one I have included for the general v general fight at the battle of Clastidium

General A rolls 3d6 and totals the score. He can re-roll if he wishes.

General B rolls 3D6 then +1.
Highest score wins.

Generals continue fighting until one has won two rounds.

Which do you feel gives a better chance of winning?
Just a feeling, or more than a feeling?

I really like the single combat mechanism in Age of War and feel that this is independent of the historical setting. As for calculating the odds of winning under the new system I feel that this is one of those things best run through a computer 10,000 times and then taking the results from that.

Human computer mark 1 estimates that General A has the better chance.

I'm not much of a one for fantasy, but I do have a few monsters and dragons tucked away. There is a lot of chatter about the new Midgard rules, but this has included comments such as you need a lot of tokens on the board. Maybe it would be fun to just throw the odd monster into C&K, bit of Beowulf or Angels and demons assisting medieval armies. Just a stray brain fart.........

There will be a fantasy version of CK (a new WAM) if I have the time.
I will include the WAM scenery ideas and teh way monsters and heroes act.

I've resolved the man to man combat probabilities!

Firstly I've had to make 2 assumptions:
1. Neither player "goes first" and the second player has to beat this score. Both players' rolls are independent.
3. The player (player A in this example) rolling 3d6 with an optional re-roll, will re-roll if he (or she) has a 50% or better chance of equalling or improving upon their initial roll.

Player A, the 3d6, optional re-roll player, will win 48% of the time.
Player B. rolling 3d6+1, will win 42% of the time.
There will be 10% draws.

i.e "here are two choices Freddy, which one do you fancy?"

General A (even more so than before)  :D
