Title: WWW breakfast - the great black pudding debate
Post by: Colonel Kilgore on November 23, 2024, 07:17:11 AM
Well done Stewart in organising who's putting on / playing what over the weekend.

However, there remains the weighty matter of black pudding for breakfast. Do they have any? Do we need to bring our own? Will this be a black pudding-free weekend?

Information urgently sought, please!

Important, no matter how you slice it?

That's another whole can of worms you've opened there, Martin. How thick to slice, fried or grilled, how crispy the cuisson...?

Lots of important such matters to consider.

I don't think so, Martin.

I play games / gamettes for fun.

This is serious stuff!

This is serious stuff indeed.
I can buy some on my way to pick Gary up on Friday as there is a great butcher in Tuckton. But how much to buy ?

Thank you Miles. At last, someone who has grasped the gravity of the situation.

For me, a decent serving on both days, please.

Love Black and White pudding.  Not allowed to eat either at the moment!

Both are great with some good quality bacon, fried bread, beans, and a couple of fried eggs.

I'm glad you are on the side of the righteous, Les.

The B&B normally does us proud on those other breakfast elements, but black pudding has recently proved a tad contentious.

Probably they do not what black or white pudding is made from.

Martin tried l'andouillette or andouille, he was not very impressed!!

I too would be suitably unimpressed with andouillette for breakfast, Les!

You could go all Bavarian and start your morning with white sausage and beer?

But I think Miles has it right here for what we need to set us off for a good day on Saturday and Sunday mornings  :)

I enjoy black pudding myself.

In Germany, my friends are always trying to get me to eat blood sausage. Apart from looking awful,  the idea of eating Pigs blood that has been dried and mixed with goodness knows what, is rather unappealing  ;D

I think you may find that the ingredients for black pudding and blood sausage are not that different, Sean.

Does that mean I can have your share of black pudding on Saturday?  ;D

It's all the same to me. It all goes down the same hole !
It's like I like my Steak Blue ! Others will hare me for that.
These are all Marmite things.
But I went out last night with a friend of mine he was talking about Bells and Teachers as normal drinks ? Now that's disgusting! I think most of us would agree on this ? If you're going to talk about Whiskey don't be blasphemous !
What made it worst he said to put Pepsi with it ?  Some propel don't have any taste or morals? LoL

I do agree with you on both blended vs. malt whiskies and the concept of adding coke to spirits, Miles.

I'm bringing some cider brandy with me. It will not be permitted to adulterate this with anything else.

Morning Gang
The hotel doesn't normally add black pudding to the breakfast.

They will for our little band but would like to know numbers so they can buy enough

Thanks for sorting this, Stewart - I've seen your email.

I'm more than happy to pay extra for black pudding.
