Title: Gams at Entoyment
Post by: martin goddard on July 02, 2024, 05:57:57 PM
Miles nad martin played 2 games of  SCW.
Miles was  Republican IB  and martin was Nationalist requetes.

Two good games.
We  decided to allow re-rolls for assaults.
What do players think about adopting tjis as a game modification?

ie target rolsl and re-rolls. Assaulter then rolls and re-rolls.

Great pictures indeed!

Personally, I prefer to play as written in the rules...but as always happy to go with a majority  :)

I'm with Sean - play the rules as they are written.

I'd quote a certain Martin Goddard Esq. who has been known to say in the past that RFCM rules are the result of extensive playtesting and fiddling with them can have unintended consequences in some of the finely balanced mechanisms.

Without doing the maths, I'd guess that the above re-rolls would favour the Attacker.

The problem is the 12D6 that gives no  6 scores.
I am not too fussed too much .

Neither am I! They are the results that create drama, fun and cries of bad luck  :)

If we average thing out too much, then we are in danger of creating a bland game experience where results are almost guaranteed. We need the fear of failure regardless of how many dice we roll!

It's a bit like being hit by the No 9 bus.
