Title: Racing circuit service cars
Post by: Lluis of Minairons on June 20, 2024, 09:59:24 PM
I've painted the three civilian vehicles below with the intention of using them as accesory, or scenic elements, in my future games of the Formula D (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/37904/formula-d) car racing game, which is why I've also been painting some highstands (https://rulesforcommonman.uk/index.php?topic=5997.0) lately -- as well as the racers themselves, of course.

All three models are 3D printed and 1/100th scale sized; from left to right, you can see a Citroën C14 in the colorful Barcelona taxi cab livery, a Ford AA towing van and a FIAT 508 ambulance. The first two models are from my brand Minairons, while the last one is from a New Zealand designer known as 'm_bergman', who sells his digital products on Wargaming3D (https://www.wargaming3d.com/) site.

The crane van was released on Minairons website right yesterday, while the Citroën saloon car is about to come soon - next month, I guess.

I could see a Heavy Machine Gun sitting in the back of that tow truck :)

Do you give them any specific treatment for painting being civilian cars?
Maybe gloss varnish instead of mat varnish or something like that?

I just satin varnish them - because I use to reserve gloss varnishing for windows and lights.
